Pricing

We strive to make our pricing fair and transparent. Whether your matter is billed on a flat-fee, contingency or hourly basis, you won’t run into surprises. Cost is laid out plainly in writing before the work gets underway.

Estate Planning

Trust-based estate plan (including trust, will(s), power(s) of attorney, medical directive(s) and related documents): $3,500/married couple, $2,800/individual.

Will-based estate plan (when a trust is not needed): $2,200/married couple, $1,700/individual.

A la carte instruments (like a power of attorney or deed): starting at $400.

Trust Administration and Probate

Trust administration: billed by the hour with a deposit.

Probate (when someone dies without a trust or with some property not titled to their trust or devised to beneficiaries): our fee is a percentage of the value of the property that must be probated, per California Probate Code section 10810 (4% on the first $100,000, 3% on the next $100,000, 2% on the next $800,000, and so on).

Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse Litigation

We litigate most abuse cases on a contingency basis, meaning that our fee is collected at the end as a percentage of the damages recovered. If we do not recover damages on your behalf, you do not owe us any fee for our services. (Clients may still be responsible for certain expenses like court filing fees.)

In restraining order cases we charge a flat fee of $2,500 for preparing and filing the restraining order petition and the first five hours of work after the petition is filed with the court ($1,000 when renewing an existing restraining order). Subsequent hours are billed on an hourly basis.

Other Services

We bill most other services by the hour. For more information, contact us for a free consultation.

Legal fees should be reasonable and disclosed in plain English at the start of the attorney-client relationship.
